The Advanced Engineering team checked in with Koenigsegg Automotive – a company that constantly pursues ultimate performance and perfection, and to learn more about what they are looking forward to when exhibiting at Advanced Engineering Stockholm.
What is the one thing you look forward to the most when exhibiting at Advanced Engineering?
We are excited to be exposed to Swedish talent at Advanced Engineering. Today, we have a great international brand, but we want to make sure to also focus on Sweden, our home base, where we believe we can find talents that can help us build the future, says Paul Murphy, VP Product & Manufacturing Engineering, Koenigsegg Automotive.
Initially it was a small team that grew fast and now we employ about 500 people. We keep growing extremely rapidly and in 2022 we are looking to hire about 100 engineers and 150 to the production. Our competence is expanding quite rapidly, and we are looking for businesses and individuals with big ideas to come onboard on this journey with us.
We are a company that constantly pursues ultimate performance and perfection, and we don’t expect anything less from our current or future employees. We don’t settle for anything less.
What is the most important aspect of participating at the show?
Connecting with people with diverse backgrounds inspires influences and accelerates technology and innovation. When we hire engineers, they don’t necessarily come from automotive, they come from many parallel industries. Like when we developed our “over the air software update system”, we actually worked a lot with engineers who previously worked with Sony mobile because of the way our software is updated in the car. To put it very simply; it’s how your phone updates itself and this is very similar. That’s why participating in shows like Advanced Engineering is important.
What would you like to say to other companies that are not yet booked at Advanced Engineering?
We would like to say to other companies that attending Advanced Engineering is a great platform to exchange ideas and connect with local talent.
It’s very interesting to see what other companies and engineers are bringing to the table.
